Blender users in south India?

Hi there,
i'm working with blender every day (in love with this software), and i just feel alone in the area...are you living in Bangalore, puducheri, chennai ?

If there is enough people, maybe we can organize a meeting and a workshop...5/6 minimum should be nice...

Workshop session:
- Modeling
- Texturing and UVmap
- Character Animation

Meeting:
- New blender interface of 2.5 (ui)
- Teachnig Blender at school

we are going to open a chain of blender-training instututes in India along with a full fledged studio for commercial film production. we 've been following your discussions and do know, that most of you are already familiar ( ..some are quite experienced) with blender. good to hear that you like blender, first and foremost look on the blender forum for tutorials ,thereafter you can always search www.blendernation.org and search for tutorials.further you can download blenderart magazine from blender-art.org.
i'll recommend you to download the official blender documentation from blender site.

The 26 July 2009 , blender event in auroville...
I don't have the poster and the ads for it but the date is decided !
i will let you know more in few days...

It will start 10AM, then lunch time somewhere in the area, then until 6PM
There are all facilities in the place, computers,etc.. it's a computer classroom! video projector, AC, drinks and more...

Well, the program is still in progress, but it will lool like this:

Introduction session:
- Why blender ? and how to contribute?
- Blender interface and main settings
- How to work with blender workflow?

Workshop session:
- Modeling
- AdvancedMaterials and UVmapping
- Animation rendering and camera movements
- Post-production with blender (movie making and VFX)

Meeting:
- New blender interface of 2.5 (ui)
- Teachnig Blender at school

So, there is already many students around here interested about, also multimedia and computer science teachers, artists, architects and designers, but the place is big, there is 12 computer and space for your laptop...about 35 seats!

i will post a map if you want to join, of course, this session is free !

if you live far away from here (pudduchery), we can organise and reserve some cheap (but good) guesthouse to stay at night...we will continue the workshop until that's too much

I'm from an illustration studio in Bangalore and we've been using Blender on commercial projects for several years. We've recently finished work for Yamaha Music, Romanov, Levis and Coca Cola, all using Blender.

We also have a small division that provides opensource consulting and help studios migrate from commercial 3d software to Blender. If all goes well we will also be providing Blender training for individuals soon.
